Hello, everyone! I am Ms. Embry, your new librarian at Travis Middle School. I am looking forward to getting to know each of you and am excited about reading and learning lots of great things together this year! I can't wait to hear about what you've been reading and what adventures you've had over the summer!
Just to let you know a little about myself....I'm really from a little farm town in West Texas but I have been in Dallas for six years where I have done everything from running an after school program to teaching reading/language arts to being a librarian, all in South Dallas. Some things I love are reading (of course!), running and working out, mountains and camping, watching movies, blog-surfing, and hanging out with kids!
Right now I'm catching up on the Twilight series, reading some of the LoneStar award winners like Gym Candy and Hunger Games. At home I'm reading The Shack and The Same Kind of Different As Me. I'm looking forward to hearing your suggestions and ideas for what to start next!
